FAQ
Common questions about Bluemountain shoes, sizing, and orders.
What makes Bluemountain shoes different?
We run a guesthouse in New York City. Every day, we watched travelers arrive exhausted — not from the flight, not from the jet lag, but from their shoes. Heavy, stiff, and taking up half the bag. So we built the shoe we always wished we could hand them: 174g ultralight, hand-woven, yoga-mat cushioned, and packable flat into any carry-on. That's what makes it different.
How light are they exactly?
Each shoe weighs approximately 174g (US size 8) — lighter than a can of soda. A typical sneaker weighs 350–500g. You'll notice the difference the moment you pick up the box.
Can I really pack them flat?
Yes. The hand-woven elastic upper flexes and compresses so the shoes fit in the side pocket of a carry-on suitcase. Pull them out, and they spring back to shape instantly. You gain luggage space without losing style.
Are they comfortable for long walking days?
The TPE insole — the same material used in premium yoga mats — gives a bouncy, responsive cushion that doesn't flatten out after 20,000 steps. The high-rebound EVA outsole absorbs impact and returns energy. Built for airports, city walks, and full travel days.
Are they breathable?
Very. The hand-woven elastic upper has a naturally open weave structure that allows continuous airflow around your foot. No more hot, sweaty feet after hours of walking — even in summer heat.
How do I choose the right size?
We carry sizes US 5 through 10 (men's). Because Bluemountain shoes are handmade with a naturally elastic woven upper, the fit is more forgiving than a standard shoe — the material gently stretches and molds to the shape of your foot over time.
That means even if your size falls between two options, you're covered. A half size up or down still feels comfortable and secure — not loose, not tight. Simply choose your usual US size, and the woven construction will take care of the rest.
Available sizes: US 5 · 5.5 · 6 · 6.5 · 7 · 8 · 9 · 10
What is the heel height?
The outsole provides a +4cm (1.6 inch) natural height boost built directly into the sole — not a visible wedge. It looks clean and minimal while giving you extra height and impact absorption with every step.
Where are Bluemountain shoes made?
Bluemountain is a Korean footwear brand, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Korea. Every shoe starts with our in-house design team in Korea — where the fit, materials, and construction methods are developed, tested, and refined to meet our standards before a single pair is produced.
That foundation — over 12 years of Korean footwear expertise — is what goes into every pair of Bluemountain woven shoes. Trusted by tens of thousands of customers in Korea, and now available in the US.
